Toyota Aygo Crazy set for Goodwood debut

It's a one-off, attention-grabbing supermini with a mid-engined layout like the Renault Clio V6.  The racing Aygo uses a 200bhp turbocharged version of Toyota's 1.8 VVT-i engine from the Celica and MR2 – making it somewhat more powerful than the regular Aygo's 68bhp. Study: Hybrids safer in accidents, more dangerous to pedestrians

In the first analysis of its kind, the Highway Loss Data Institute found that drivers of hybrid vehicles are, on average, 25 percent less likely to be injured in a crash than drivers of conventional vehicles. Matt Moore, the data institute's vice president and author of the study, said weight was a big factor in its analysis. “Hybrids on average are 10 percent heavier than their standard counterparts,” Moore said in a statement on Thursday.

Ford previews new Vignale sub-brand before Frankfurt motor show reveal

Ford is creating a new sub-brand for the European market, even though the top-of-the-line "Titanium X" trimmed cars are strong sellers already. The name of this sub-brand will be one that most of you have heard, perhaps not associated with the Blue Oval: Vignale. Ford has made it clear that none of the Vignale models will be sold in the U.S..
